ARRON HABY WINS THE 2012 HI-TEC OPILS RIVERLAND 300 AT WAIKERIE
After the Sea Lake DNF, Aaron got his act together to take out this years event, brother Carl only managed to get 4 laps in before a split fuel tank took him out of the event. Jack Rhodes came in 5 seconds behing. Trevor copeland had a good finish coming in 3rd.Lindsay Foster followed up his success at Sea Lake with a 4th outright and a class wins. Andrew Mowles after his attempt at taking out the timing van on Saturday got his act together for a 5th outright. Bob Strawbridge started late after losing around 3 minutes with a front running light problem but he still managed to get up into 6th outright.
Andrew Mowles tried to take out the timing van on Saturday hitting the start/finish structure and concrete barracades. Another to put on a display Saturday was Ken Philp from Mildura who had a wild ride over the jump in front of the spectator mound and the track kink just after the jump. Check out Van Nixon's Facebook page for pics. The Gwynne boys in Car 440 took out their class as did Jeff Loader. 12 cars did all 5 laps of the SA Off Road Champsionship section with 26 actually classifed as finishing with the 3 laps to be classified as a finisher rule.

WAIKERIE
Aaron Haby wins prologue from Toby Francombe. All 59 entries finished the prologue, a rare exception with no dnf's.

The race started in great conditions, just the right amount of breeze. 2 cars failed to start Car 118 and Car 79 with a blown engine. Luke Erceg broke an axle on the start line, managed to get another one and is now racing. Bob Strawbridge was held up from starting because the front running lights were not working, after a bit of a jiggle Bob got them working and started about 3 minutes late.
ARON HABY HAS JUST FINISHED THE EVENT winning in a time of 3 hours 23 minutes and 15 seconds.

They are expecting around 80 entries, make sure you are one of them, Should be a great field with some good cars coming from across the border - plenty of competition. A Trophy Car demonstration has been added to the program which should provide some fun entertainment. Always a gret event, great spectator viewing with great food and lots of camping romm and good facilities.

Need some input into the website, surely someone is building, re-building or doing something interesting to their car.

Well what an exciting event we had at parilla on the 19-20 th May. It was good to see 28 entries roll in of the event. Billy had a new header cab to sit in and keep warm and out of the wind Also he had a new apprentice to keep him company. Job well done Cameron. The new spectators area looked great and hoping the crowd had A great time watching all the new jumps. Well the Haby's back to back and what a great drive Trevor Copeland put in. But the best part for was the standing ovation Gillian Ziembinski received With Daniel (aka Boof) along side her, when they received the chequer flag at the end of the gruelling 8 laps. This moment was priceless. We would like to say thankyou to all the 28 entries and supporters for a great weekend
Kind regards
Dave Rault

MANNUM
What a hecttic couple of weeks. As you can imagine Wednesday was a write off. Been extremely busy organising for the event this weekend. The boys have also been busy with several working bees at the track. Showers are up and running. Prologue track is now 5.9 kms. Lots of work has been done around the track, with some changes in a couple of sections.
Entries have been trickling in. Several interstate entries including Darren 'Axle' Grrening and Andrew Mowles coming from Alice Springs, Matt Coleman and Matt Owen from Warrnambool and Andrew Stoddart and Luke Hall from Victoria.
Luke Erceg will be out with his now Prolite buggy, Bib Strawbridge with a new paint job and the ever impressive Haby boys, Carl and Aaron out to continue their good form from 2011. Ken Philp from Mildura will this year chase the SAORRA series. John Schultz is removing the cobwebs to take his truck for a run. Andrew Oliver is taking his car out to get dirty. Nev Day is again driving Roger Cox's buggy. Lindsay Foster will be out to test his fuel calculations are right. MANNUM
Supplentary Regs for Mannum are now available

Have been off the air for a couple of weeks had a major bug in the main computer which created drastic effects with my emails and finally shut my internet down. Had my computer guru out today and hopefully we don't have any more problems. Somebody sent me a very very big file which affected my inbox, that and the virus had me tearing my hair out.
5/3/12
SAORRA CALENDARS are now available. They can be picked up from Complete Exhaust Marion, Unit 10/798 Marion Rd Marion or will be available at your next club meeting.

MANNUM
All systems are go for the Mannum event which is Round 1 of both the SA Off Road Championship and the 2012 SAORRA Series The event is being co-organised by the Adelaide Buggy Club and Spencer Gulf Off Road Assn. It will be the first running of an SA Off Road Championship event at the Mannum track and we are hoping for a good entry list.
The track has been extensively changed from the first Mannum event at this track which has made the track more friendly to all classes of vehicles but still provide excellent racing. The track has excelllent viewing areas with a spectator mound by the start/finish line as well as plenty of other good vantage points within walking distance of the start/finish area. Full catering, camping and toilets, hope to have the showers finished in time for the event.
There are a number of vehicles being re-built for this coming year including Luke Erceg, Lindsay Foster and Bob Strawbridge. Luke has changed classes going to Prolite in his Chenowth. Bob has stripped the car and rebuilt and will come out with a very bright Southern Cross this year. Lindsay has finally painted his Jimco (not the frame, just the panels) Aaron Cole is a new driver for this year, Aaron bought his own buggy at the end of last year, meaning Lindsay had to find a navigator (which I believe is James Lochert) I am sure there are many other changes out there that I don't know about and I am sure they will all be out there to try and tackle the dominance of the Haby brothers Carl and Aaron, what a 2011 they had.
